From Monkfield Nutrition to Monkfield Reptile
Jo Wise started Monkfield Nutrition in 1980. More than 40 years on, we’re still family-owned and still based near Ely, Cambridgeshire. Along the way we’ve grown into Monkfield Reptile, supplying food, specialist equipment and livestock to the reptile trade through brands including Arcadia, HabiStat and Monkfield Nutrition.
Today we have 135 people on the team and have passed £27m in revenue. We supply more than 1,500 products to customers in 35 countries, from major retailers and online platforms to independent pet shops, specialist stores, zoos and wildlife centres, with help from our network of distributors. In the US, we trade as Arcadia Reptile Inc. We’ve also grown through acquisitions, including tortoise breeder and supplier Zoological International.
What this means for our customers
The investment will help us keep developing new products, invest further in our service to customers across the UK and Europe, and grow faster in the US, where our products are already stocked by leading retailers and independent stores nationwide.
